Very excited about this trade! Chick has been compared to Nolan Ryan or Schilling. Not always ends up that way but pleasing to me. Dan O'Brien did something right in my opinion.

Chick - Flaunted as a phenom in the making. Compared to Nolan Ryan or Schilling. High K/B ratio a mean slider.

 

Padres fans will grow to dislike this trade in the future, I have a feeling.

 

Im sure you marlins fans remember Chick. Once upon a time, Marolins property.

Travis Chick is overrated, in my humble opinion.

 

He wasn't a major prospect when we traded him, blew up for a half season in San Diego, got a ton of hype.

 

This season in double-A, he's 2-9 with a 5.27 ERA. He has 92 K and 40 BB in 97.1 IP...and he's given up 107 hits. That's a 1.52 WHIP.

 

It's possible that he'll adjust, but they also say A to AA is when you find out if a player is for real and...
