Besides, I've heard that Benson is their #1 priority right now, so I don't see anyway that they get both of them when they won't part with their #1, #2 or #3 organizational prospects...

Benson's far and away the most tradeable pitcher on the market and there's no way they trade him 1) a week before the deadline and 2) for one prospect. In a matter of days, the urgency from the Yankees, Mets, Twins, Angels, or even the Red Sox and Cubs will drive his price up; as does every good game he pitches. A young pitcher, former #1 overall pick, not signed beyond this year, without a no-trade clause who hasn't lost in over a month is attractive to a lot of teams either looking simply at this year or for the future, and because of that, the Pirates are going to get what they want.

July 23, 200422 yr The Sun-Sentinel says that the Marlins will still go after Finley despite this and move Pierre to LF where he began his career. Also it mentions that the Cardinals have interest in Conine but he doesnt want to go....I really think that we should keep him on the bench and still get Finley.
July 23, 200422 yr waler>finley in every way. ppl are overblowing the phillies landing finley. who really cares? he isnt a big uprgrade over what chase utley has been doing and finley has been struggling all month and the end of last month.hes always been a 1st half player and walker has a 478 OBP to wet urself over.
