The Marlins and Phillies can cross Steve Finley off their wish lists.

Sources close to the Diamondbacks said the outfielder told the team he would use his no-trade clause to block any trade to an East Coast team.

That eliminates Florida and Philadelphia from the picture and, for the Marlins, shifts the focus toward Rockies outfielder Admin Walker with the trade deadline looming.

Walker, however, might prove too costly for the Marlins. He stands to earn $12.5 million next season and still has about $5 million left to be paid on this year's contract.

And the Marlins aren't the only team interested in Walker. The Atlanta Braves have expressed interest, and the Boston Red Sox could also join the fray, sources said.

The Marlins might have to turn their attention elsewhere if the decision is made to upgrade the lineup with a hitter. Candidates could include everyone from the Astros' Carlos Beltran to Cincinnati's Adam Dunn.

The Marlins have long had interest in Dunn, but the Reds would demand a starting pitcher and are reluctant to take on the kind of salary needed to sign pitchers such as Carl Pavano and Brad Penny next season.
