HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The surging Atlanta Braves seek their sixth win when they open a three-game series against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

 

The Braves are coming off a three-game sweep of the New York Mets at Turner Field, taking Sunday's finale, 6-5.

 

The Astros took two of three at Cincinnati over the weekend, winning Sunday's rubber game, 7-5, after rallying from a two-runs deficit with three runs in the eighth off John Riedling.

 

With 26 wins in their last 34 games, the Braves have opened a 5 1/2-game cushion over Philadelphia in the National League East Division.

Atlanta - Russ Ortiz (12-6, 3.19 ERA); 0-1, 2.70 vs. Houston in 2004.

 

Houston - Roger Clemens (12-3, 2.77); has not faced Atlanta in 2004.
