September 1, 200422 yr 'rock, I've missed you! One of my favorite liberals/hippies How was NY? And I've been waiting all summer to tell you about a sweet bluegrass/string band: Old Crow Medicine Show
September 2, 200422 yr Awesome buddy! I'm actually working on turning my journals of my experience into a book thingie, so you can see everything there. Or once I get a synopsis of my travels I'll e-mail it to whoever wants to read it. Do tell of the bluegrass band... I also thought of you as I drove down 95' to get back to Florida. Came very close to Greenville. (thats where Furman is right?)
September 2, 200422 yr Author yah! But if you were on 95, you must have been going near Greenville, NC (where East Carolina University is)...not Greenville SC. Greenville SC is about 3 hrs west of 95...it's only a couple hrs from Tennessee. This band is pretty awesome man. I was watching GAC (Great American Country) and they have this show, On The Edge Of Country where they show like country rock, texas country, bluegrass, etc., and I saw this band playing (mid-video) and I LOVED the song. Turns out it's Old Crow Medicine Show...who I remember seeing open for Charlie Daniels Band over a year ago in Asheville. Anyway, turns out the song they were playing, Wagon Wheel, was originally a Bob Dylan song that never got recorded. OCMS added a couple verses (and obviously bluegrassed it up). This band is incredible, and they are all like 25 years old. I bought the cd and LOVE it. I'm at Furman, so people can get music from me thru AIM (you might not be able to get music from me if I have an away message up...I dunno)...and I have the cd on my computer. It's worth the buy, though, 'rock.
