Yeah, I know if I ever won a bronze medal, I'd throw it away.

That just shows how little you know and the respect (or lack thereof) you have for the Olympic games. Winning a medal is a HUGE deal, it doesn't matter if it's gold, silver or bronze. The majority of athletes that don't participate in the glamorous sports (such as basketball) train their entire lives hoping to just win a medal, unlike the overpaid babies on the basketball team. Other athletes live in small countries that have NEVER even won a medal in Olympic competition before, winning a medal is a major deal throughout the entire world, it doesn't matter what color is. Winning a gold is a plus but most athletes are just happy to win a medal, period.

if he did his best and put 100% effort into winning that bronze medal, then he should wear that thing proud. I believe that team did their best.

a medal is a medal...trust me the other teams that practiced for 4 years and went home empty handed would kill for that bronze....is the bronze a slap in the face to the USA team yes because we are supposed to have the best players in the world...but if i were Wade id wear it proudly..

I'd throw it away, probably, but I wouldn't be too thrilled to take a photo with it. Basketball has always been our game and I wouldn't say that not winning the Gold was a surprise, but to many basketball fans in the US it was an embarassment. And comparing the US basketball team to other events just doesn't work. :confused
