October 6, 200422 yr I was bored and started one of these "plan" threads, but I don't know which numbers are correct. Admin has Conine at $3 million and Pierre at $1.88 million, but Juanky has them at $4.75 and $3.4 million. Admin's thread Juanky's thread Site with Marlins' payroll I think Juanky's reading of the site are the accurate numbers that we'll have to pay next year, but I'm not sure. For the Marlins' sake, and my projections, I hope Admin is correct. Does anyone know for sure? :banghead
October 6, 200422 yr I do know that when Jeff Conine signed his contract with the Orioles it was for more than $3M per year. At the time of the trade, no newspaper was releasing the full details but just that Conine's contract would be restructured to severely backloaded. To me that suggests that Juanky / Dugout Dollars' numbers are right.
October 6, 200422 yr Conine will make $3 million in 2005. Conine and the Marlins restructured his existing contract (signed with Baltimore) to guarantee Jeff an additional year (2005). In exchange Conine took less in 2004, making $3 mil in each of the two years.

October 6, 200422 yr Did JP sign anything with us? This is all I found on him 3/13/2002 Outfielder Juan Pierre agreed to a four-year contract. After signing a four-year, $7.5 million contract extension in mid-March, Pierre has dropped off from the numbers he put up during the 2001 season. espn: 2004 Salary: $2,400,000 baseball reference: 2002 Colorado Rockies $600,000 2003 Florida Marlins $1,000,000 So if nothing was signed with him as a Marlin, that contract will have him making $3.5 million in his final year of the contract according to my unrealiable sources (via Google).
October 6, 200422 yr Author Okay, so I'll put Conine at $3 million and assume Juanky was right on the other differences from how I read that site's numbers.
October 6, 200422 yr I think Pierre makes $3.4 before the incentives kick in not sure what they are but Im sure he reached alot of them
October 6, 200422 yr Half of the incentives Pierre earned from the 2003 season (to be pad in 2004) came from finishing in the top 10 of MVP voting. RMM, may be right about the $3.5M figure because according to this site his signing bonus was for 400K which you would think would be paid throughout the contract.
