July 1, 200323 yr Down on the farm: Denny Bautista continues to be impressive for Double-A Carolina. Recently brought up from Class-A Jupiter, Bautista (2-0) threw six shutout innings in a 6-0 win over Mobile. In two starts in Double-A, the right-hander has thrown 12 scoreless innings. Chip Ambres doubled and drove in two runs. Josh Wilson and Adrian Gonzalez each had two hits. Triple-A Albuquerque suffered a 5-1 loss to New Orleans. The Isotopes were held to three hits. Abraham Nunez reached base four times, on two singles and two walks. The Jupiter Hammerheads collected 10 hits, but lost, 5-4, to Tampa. Michael Tucker had a double and two runs scored. Low Class-A Greensboro is off to a fast start in the second half with an 8-2 record. Jeremy Hermida, the Marlins' first-round pick in 2002, went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 4-2 win over Delmarva. Hermida's now batting .282. c/o mlb.com *Maybe Chip Ambres will finally start showing us why we picked him in the 1st round? *Hermida seems to have recovered in Greensboro.. *Bautista is dominating AA so far....Could be another very electric starter. *Looks like Abe Nunez is back...don't count him out if Cabs continues to struggle. I give him another week.
