October 21, 200421 yr Could somebody translate what its about in simple English? Somebody should get slapped for wording Amendment 1 into a bunch of legal jargon. My take: Vote Yes if you want it to be required to notify parents if their kid under 16 has had an abortion. Vote No if you don't want the State to notify parents if their kid had an abortion. Is that right? The other way around? If people couldn't figure out how to vote of Bush/Gore I have no idea how they'll get this right.
October 21, 200421 yr My take on it was that without encroaching on general privacy rights under Roe v Wade and State Constitution, do you want a law that makes it mandatory for parents to be notified if there daughter wants an abortion or should the girl be able to get an abortion without her parents knowing? I voted that girls should not have to tell their parents. There were simply not enough exception for things such as incest etc.

I'm going against all the cultural facilities because other cities finance those through private donations and putting money into those projects (see Preforming Arts facilities) hurts the Marlins chances of staying here.

If you need parental consent to play afterschool sports, not needing one for an abortion seems logically inconsistent. If you perform an abortion on some teen without parental consent, and the deal goes bad and the kid dies, what are the liability implications? October 21, 200421 yr What keeps lawyers employed is human nature to do wrong and have disputes. The same can be said for many other fields...including police officers.
