We were 50-36 at the 1997 All-Star break, in 2nd place(NL East) and 6.5 games behind the Braves. We were leading the Wild Card race by 2 games over the Mets.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/games/st...date=1997-07-06 wow 14 games over .500 and still 6.5 back of the Braves.... that's crazy

I was just watchin the 97 WS yesterday on my computer. I get chills up my spine hearing the crowd when renteria won that game.

i have the World Series video from that year and when i watch it i get the biggest smile on my face, i cant help it. all these great memories just come back to me, i even remember what i was doing or where i was during every game of the playoffs, watching the games with my grandpa, jumping on him when they won the pennant and hugging him tight when they beat cleveland and how much i skipped church during that month. i wish i had been in the state that year, ah good times and memories. :D
