July 10, 200323 yr Good thing Dusty Baker didn't do the selections for this league as AA Carolina had 5 players on the Southern East All-Star team. The East won the game 7-5. *3B Drew Niles went 2-5 including a double and walked once. I'm starting to like this kid a BUNCH. He could probably be converted to 1B or outfield. *SS Josh Wilson who I'm also high on went 1-4. *RF Matt Padgett, who will compete in the Home Run Derby with 12 jacks, went 2-4 with a double and a walk. *Pitchers Mike Flannery (2IP, 1H, 0ER, 2SO) and Sean Fesh (1IP, 1H, 0ER) played well also. I'm excited about Fesh with his K per IP and 24 2/3 scoreless inning streak. Know anything about Fesh's stuff Ed? Seems to K a lot of people and walk few.
July 10, 200323 yr Fesh is a 32 year lefty whose fastball barely reaches 85-86 mph. The fact that he is 32 and still in AA should tell u something. He was in AAA for a short time earlier this year and got hit hard.

He was in AAA for a short time earlier this year and got hit hard. thanks for the info...I heard he was a side armer also...and his K/BB ratio is nice...i think they should try him up at AAA again.
