TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Von Wafer hit six of his first seven 3-point attempts and finished with 20 points Sunday to lead Florida State to an 82-69 upset over Florida.

Adam Waleskowski added 18 points and reserve Al Thornton scored 17 for the Seminoles, who were coming off one of their worst games of the season, a 67-50 loss to Louisiana State on Thursday.

Florida State (8-6) led 45-32 at halftime with a 10-0 run over the final 47 seconds, sparked by Thornton.

Thornton and Alexander Johnson each had nine rebounds and Waleskowski grabbed eight as the Seminoles finished with a 44-20 advantage on the boards, 16-5 on the offensive end.

Florida (8-3) shot poorly from the free throw line in the first half, making only two of its first nine and then was unable to get back into the game in the second half, trailing on two occasions by as many as 19 points.

The Gators did close within 69-60 on a layup by Anthony Roberson, who had 22 points. Lee Humphrey added 15 for the Gators.

Florida State shot 51 percent for the game, including 60 percent from 3-point range, while Florida hit 46 percent, including 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Florida Hoops will never reach that next level until Billy Donovan stops bringing in so many white players.

UF basketball and football have the same problem: good recruiting, crappy coaching

I'm glad FSU got the win, but hopefully Wafer isn't hurt too bad.

You're absolutely right.

Too many program builders, not enough Xs and Os.

FSU is inconsistent, but they've got a ton of young talent. Give em some time...
