January 11, 200521 yr Good explanation about the differences between the two. Sponsorship for HD-DVD: Toshiba NEC Paramount Pictures Universal Studios Warner Brothers/New Line Cinema Sponsorship for Blu-Ray: Sony/Sony Pictures Dell Hitachi Hewlett-Packard Panasonic Pioneer Philips Samsung MGM Disney Storage Space for HD-DVD:15 GB Storage Space for Blu-Ray: 25 GB Video resolution: 1920 x 1080 (both) For the gamers: Sony is officially behind Blu-Ray for the PS3 while it's rumored but not confirmed that Xbox will be HD-DVD.
