I got these stats off www.rotogenius.com for Marlins winter league players...

~ P Yorman Bazardo: 1-1, 3.23 ERA, 39.0 IP, 27 K, 7 BB/VWL. (FINAL)

~ 1B/3B Joe Dillon: .328 AVG, 5 HR, 25 RBI, 1 SB/MPL. (FINAL)

~ OF Jeremy Hermida: .265 AVG, 7 HR, 23 RBI, 4 SB/AFL. (FINAL)

~ OF Eric Reed: .286 AVG, 0 HR, 6 RBI, 8 SB/AFL. (FINAL)

Any of these guys gonna see the light of day in 2005 for the fish?

Dillon might have a spot on the bench this year.

The other 3 are a year or more away...

joe dillon's the only one who has a chance to make the final roster

and he won't play much if he does

it's also unlikely but possible that hermida's called up

If we get Delgado, no chance any of those guys has any shot of anything in 2005.

Hermida should be starting in right by 2006, and if we don't get Delgado and Encarnacion struggles, he may see some time on the big club.

I agree with that - Hermida is the RF of the future. That is why the Marlins will sit on Encarnacion in the final year of his contract.

The other players are prospects, of course, but Dillon is not. He is pretty up there in age, I believe 28+. So his time is now.

Reed could take over if JP leaves. Yorman is a bullpen guy and may not find room this year unless Bump, Howard, or Wayne struggle.

The five names to watch for in 2005 are: Joe Dillion, Josh Willingham, Chris Aguila, Josh Wilson and Trevor Hutchinson. Each will be given looks in spring training, with Willingham and Aguila most likely to win spots on the bench. Wilson and Dillon will battle Lenny Harris and Wilson Delgado. Hutchinson caught in the Bump-Howard-Wayne-Castillo-Bentz mix.

Jeremy Hermida and three AA pitchers (Scott Olsen and Yorman Bazardo and Logan Kensing) could be the next to follow in Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis' footsteps.

Eric Reed, Jason Stokes and Robert Andino are still projects at this point. Might be available in 2006.
