City Cracks Down On Thongs

Showing Buttocks Could Cost Thong-Wearers $500

MELBOURNE, Fla. --

Wearing skimpy swimwear on Melbourne's beach, in local parks or out on the street could cost you $500 and even land you jail.

The Melbourne City Council has voted to ban thongs amid a series of new adult entertainment regulations. Brevard County has banned thongs since 1995.

Melbourne council members also slashed the city's adult entertainment zone from 937 acres to 40 acres along North Drive.

The American Association for Nude Recreation in Kissimmee has unsuccessfully lobbied council members to delay any nudity decisions.

I think thongs should be regulated kinda like driver's licenses. Some people should have them some shouldn't. Some girls should be allowed to wear thongs, others, not so much.

There should be a weight limit too, much like driver's licenses.
