JP - the most dedicated athlete in the offseason

Featured Replies

I couldn't find it online, but in yesterday's Herald they talk about how JP shows up at 7am every morning to the FAST program (Cris Carter's athlete condition program in Boca Raton). One staff member was quoted saying they have never seen such dedication by anybody ever.

Expect JP to be unstoppable this season. :thumbup

After seeing his steals slip from 65 to 45 last year, Marlins center fielder Juan Pierre has been maniacal in speed drills this off-season at Cris Carter's FAST Program in Boca Raton, arriving by 7 a.m. most days since Nov. 6.

''In my six years, I 've never seen an athlete that trains like him,'' FAST GM Leslie Calvagne said.

He still has a year of arbitration after his deal is done. Thank you Rockies!

IIRC, he went last year and was so uncomfortable with their techniques he shortened his lead to prevent from being picked off.
