January 28, 200521 yr What is our FA situation after 05? Is JP a FA? I know Leiter, Encarnacion, Conine, Alex Gonzalez and Burnett are FA. What about the rest of the Squad? This is what I know so far, can someone fill the ? or correct errors 1. JP (?) 2. Castillo (signed til 07) 3. Cabrera (locked til 09) 4. Delgado (signed til 08) 5. Lowell (signed til 07) 6. LoDuca (signed til 07) 7. Conine (FA after 05) 8. Enc (FA after 05) 9. Alex (FA after 05) 10. Beckett (?) 11. Burnett (FA after 05) 12. Leiter (FA after 05) 13. Willis (?) 14. Valdez (FA after 05) 15. Mota (FA after 05?) 16. Spoony (?) 17. Alfonseca (FA after 05? or did he signed 2 years) Looks like this year is the year where we are positioned to make a big splash. I don't know about next year since we are missing 3 starting pitchers including Burnett.
January 28, 200521 yr JP I think we have until 2006 So pretty much going to need 3 starters and a SS with probably about 15-20 mil to spend on that since about 25 mil in payroll is coming off the books, but Delgado takes up about half of that. Hermida will be starting RF Probably going to have one minor leaguer get a shot at the 5 spot in the rotation. (Hutch or maybe Olsen, but doubt if he's ready) SS maybe Josh Wilson...not really sure how much Alex would cost So that leaves two SP...Maybe resign Burnett and whoever else will be FA, but we will have some money to play around with I think Bullpen can easily be patched together like it was this year Not too worried
