As we noted the other day here on the site, Linda and Shane McMahon were spotted at NBC Universal offices in Rockefeller Center several days ago. We have been told that a deal is done and locked with the USA network. Everything has apparently been worked out and an announcement should be expected soon.

Considering their contract with Spike TV expiers in September, that's most likely whent he jump to USA will be.

The news is now out on pwtorch.com that Spike TV has ended negotiations with WWE, which gives more credence to that report. However, UPN supposedly wanted to cancel Smackdown, and that didn't happen. Could be just posturing by Spike TV, but if that report is true, then maybe not.

A big part of the downfall of the WWE was switching to TNN, when most cable providers didn't carry it. It definitely helped the network and it's re-incarnations turn into a major TV network, but in the process hurt it a lot.
