July 20, 200323 yr Bad News? 1B Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs while RHP Edwin Moreno allowed 2 runs in 8.2 innings to snag his 5th win as Double-A Frisco choke-slammed San Antonio, 6-2. SS Marshall McDougall was 2-for-4 with a dinger (11) and 2 RBIs and 3B Andy Beinbrink went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs for Frisco. Gonzalez is now hitting .478 in 6 games with Frisco and has only fanned once in 23 ABs. Grand theft? OR Good News? 1B Jason Stokes went 3-for-5 with a double, a steal, 2 runs scored and an RBI in High-A Jupiter's 9-8 home triumph over Daytona. Stokes continues to lead the FSL in RBIs (72) and is 2nd in extra-base hits (40). He's a monster. RHP Ben Christensen gave up 3 runs in 1.1 innings of relief for Daytona. Christensen now has a 4.50 ERA in 6 games with the Cubbies. Pierre watch out! RF Jeremy Hermida was 2-for-4 with another steal and 2 RBIs in Low-A Greensboro's 5-1 win over Charleston-WV. Hermida has a hit in 9 out of his last 10 games and is now hitting .289 overall. He's also stolen 18 bases this season and been caught just once. Rickey Henderson's return to the majors must have inspired him this past week.
July 20, 200323 yr Hey Ed...i know that in AAA Strattons not starting every day...but he hasnt played in 5 game...do you know anything about that?
July 20, 200323 yr Gonzalez is good, but Stokes has more upside. I wish I could watch them play somehow, and our other minor leaguers too for that matter. The guy I would like to see play is Bautista. I want to see Stokes promoted soon too...
July 20, 200323 yr Author I think it has more to do with the team wanting to play more Chad Allen, Abe Nunez and now Gerald Williams. All three hitting above .290, while Stratton a awesome power hitter strikesout too much and is hitting below .240...but I do have some interesting injuries update. RHP Trevor Hutchinson was stung by a bee. He has spent the last two night at a Raleigh hospital. here's also an article on Abe Nunez and why you haven't seen in the Big Show this year. http://www.abqtrib.com/archives/sports03/0..._isotopes.shtml
July 20, 200323 yr Author jonnylons go up to Jupiter Roger Dean Stadium in palm beach. You'll see Jason Stokes play for the Hammerheads. Denny Bautista was there a begin of the season but he appears on the fast track to the show.
