Infant Molester Goes To Jail

Featured Replies

Davenport-A Davenport woman was sentenced to up to ten years in prison today for having sex on tape with a baby boy. Melissa Mae Brown plead guilty earlier this year to sex abuse and exploitation of a child. Last year, Davenport police seized more than a dozen graphic videotapes, tapes police say were shot by Brown's boyfriend and pimp, Kerwin Summage.

The tapes showed Brown performing illegal sex acts, some involving a baby boy under the age of one, and dogs. At her sentencing today, Brown's lawyer told the judge her client was abandoned by her own mother when she was ten, started hanging out with Summage when she was just 14 or 15, and had a ''messed up life''. Brown today choked back tears, telling the judge ''I understand what I did here is wrong, and the harm I caused my child, and children, the heartache I've brought to my family.''

Four other charges against Brown, including beastiality and prostitution were dropped, in exchange for her testimony against Summage, when he goes to trial. He's in custody down in Georgia. Brown's children are now in foster care.
