I wonder if he's hurting. Could be that problem of scar tissue that a lot of guys have after surgery and they start pitching again.
May 6, 200521 yr There was a story recently he had a setback in recovery (check the archives), but this is clearly a 40-man roster move. We only had 1 spot open and to make room for Smith and Crowell, either a prospect/minor leaguer had to be exposed to waivers or Spooney had to be retroactively put on the 60-day DL.
