Forgive me if this is old news, but I hadn't seen it posted:

 

Marlins transferred RHP Tim Spooneybarger from the 15-day to 60-day disabled list.

Spooneybarger, still recovering from Tommy John surgery, won't pitch for the Marlins until June at the earliest.

So, I'd expect him back around the same time Alfonseca gets healthy...

Yeah but I thought Spooney was going to go to Albuquerque to pitch in order to build up arm strength? I wonder if he's hurting. Could be that problem of scar tissue that a lot of guys have after surgery and they start pitching again.

There was a story recently he had a setback in recovery (check the archives), but this is clearly a 40-man roster move. We only had 1 spot open and to make room for Smith and Crowell, either a prospect/minor leaguer had to be exposed to waivers or Spooney had to be retroactively put on the 60-day DL.
