Posted June 2, 200519 yr Johnson went 5 innings he gave up 0 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. I'm not positive why he only went 5 innings but I do know he's been hampered by an injury as of late, and that's probably the reason why. His ERA is down to 2.63. He's been the Mudcats best pitcher all season, which is saying a lot considering the guys they've got on that staff. Vargas meanwhile continues to pitch well, he's dominated every level so far he's been at. Tonight he went 6 innings and gave up 0 runs on 3 hits also, while walking 2 and striking out 8. The kid continues to amaze, and don't be surprised if he's in Carolina before the end of July. Oh by the way I should be able to catch Vargas' next start, because if they keep the rotation the way it is he'll be pitching next monday in Brevard. So that should be fun.
