June 3, 200521 yr Rotoworld: According to the Indians, Juan Gonzalez's hamstring tore completely off the bone as he ran to first base during his 2005 debut. ''Juan might be out up to three months,'' trainer Lonnie Soloff said. ''This is an uncommon injury in baseball players. Right now, it's quite swollen and sore. We'll re-examine him in two weeks after the pain and swelling subside. A determination on when he can return to play will be made then.'' Jun. 3 - 5:48 am et Source: Akron Beacon Journal Another victim of steroids. Kevin Youkilis led off for the Red Sox last night. First Boston had him playing second base and now he's leading off? Youkilis immediately joins Jeremy Giambi at the top of the ''Slowest Leadoff Hitters of the 2000s'' list. Jun. 3 - 5:22 am et Source: Boston Globe :lol :lol :lol Scott Rolen started baseball activities yesterday to begin rehabbing his shoulder injury. He has taken some swings and is playing some long toss. They plan on stepping up the workouts on Monday and then should have a timetable on a return date for the third baseman. Jun. 3 - 4:46 am et Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch Astros owner Drayton McLane denied a rumor that Roger Clemens was going to be traded to the Texas Rangers. He did say however that there has been talk about Clemens with Boston and the Yankees. If you own Clemens in a NL only league, it's time to move him. Jun. 3 - 4:15 am et Source: Houston Chronicle Preston Wilson stopped wearing his knee brace last week, and has been playing well since. His range in the outfield is much better without the bulky brace and he's 8-for-25 with three home runs since ditching it. This should clear the way for him to be traded, and the possibilities include Atlanta, Florida, New York Mets, Baltimore and Chicago White Sox. Jun. 3 - 4:06 am et Source: Denver Post Carl Pavano yielded five runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings tonight in a loss to the Yankees. The Yankees should have known that Pavano just wasn't prepared to deal with powerful American League lineups like Kansas City's. At least he didn't take his second liner to the head of the season, as Mike Sweeney's drive in the fourth inning missed him by inches. Pavano is 4-4 with a 4.50 ERA that isn't entirely reflective of his struggles. He's given up 13 homers in 12 starts. Jun. 2 - 11:28 pm et Brought in to protect a three-run lead at the start of the eighth, Danny Kolb was charged with four runs in one-third of an inning tonight. The loss left him 1-5. It wasn't really as bad as it sounds, as neither single he gave up was hit well. However, he got himself into trouble right from the start by walking the leadoff man, and after giving up the two singles, he surrendered a hard double down the line to Vinny Castilla. Kevin Gryboski entered and allowed another double after an intentional walk, resulting in a five-run inning. Chris Reitsma's value definitely take a jump as a result of tonight's events. Jun. 2 - 11:03 pm et Despite recommendations from four doctors against it, Octavio Dotel has decided undergo Tommy John surgery. ''Octavio does not feel he can pitch with the level of pain he was pitching with,'' A's trainer Admin Davis said Thursday. ''Everybody's tolerance level is different. Octavio feels like he's tried long enough. ... He's been throwing a long time and is tired of recurrent tendinitis.'' Some will question his manhood, but with Dotel eligible for free agency at the end of the season, he could have tried to tough it out for a few more months and then undergo surgery next year after getting his next contract. Now he'll have to take an incentive-laden deal this winter. Huston Street should remain Oakland's closer for the rest of the season. Jun. 2 - 9:23 pm et
June 3, 200521 yr yes, every big time player who gets hurt is a victim of roids 794338[/snapback] Juan Gone is a classic case. Look at how far he's fallen and in few years. Now he can't seem to walk onto a baseball field without getting hurt.
June 3, 200521 yr Youklis was leading off because his OBP is good and Damon was gettign the day off. Tito didnt want to mess with anyone else's spot in the lineup as everyoen is finally settling in. If Roger Clemens gets traded back to Boston, then everything that Theo Espstein has said/stands for should be thrown out the window.

He was more a benificiary of the ballpark in Arlington combined with very good skills anyways.
