June 13, 200521 yr The following is a list of solid relivers on teams that aren't doing so hot. I didn't research contracts so feel free to add in opinions on availability based on that. Team Name ERA WHIP IP S (if closer) Mil Turnbow 3.16 , 1.13 , 25 , 10 Mil Wise 2.64 , .82 , 30.2, Hou Wheeler 1.57 , .98 28.2 Det Walker 2.18 , 1.02 , 20.2, SEA Mateo 3.12 , 1.04 , 40, OAK Duchsherer 1.74 , 1.06 , 31, TOR Batista 2.10 , 1.09 , 25, KC Carrasco 2.33 , 1.09 , 38 , Starter now actually CLE The whole bullpen Riske 1.50 , .73 , 30, Rhodes 1.07 , .83 , 25, Betancourt 2.86 , 1.06 , 28, Miller 1.69 , 1.00 , 16, Howry 2.93 , 2.93 , 27, Wickman 3.13 , 1.39 , 23 , 17 I think some of these guys could come pretty cheap
June 13, 200521 yr dont even both with Betancourt, Duchsherer, or Mateo and the Tigers and Blue Jays, while they arent playing great, arent ready to give up on the season.... same can be said for the Injuns and Turnbow would cost the farm
June 13, 200521 yr Author I think the A's are ready to move Duchsherer since Street is the man of the future. The indians are now 10 games back and falling.

June 13, 200521 yr The indians are now 10 games back and falling. 807908[/snapback] 5 games out of the wildcard and they are over .500 after a bad start.

June 13, 200521 yr A good bullpen needs 3-4 good pitchers to get the job done. We have Jones and Mecir. Mota is recovering. And a bunch of other arms on the DL or in the minors. As many coaches have said before, it's not the ones that get away or that you don't have, it's the ones you are saddled with that kills you.
