June 24, 200521 yr Safety Quintin Williams was arrested for DUI and drag racing after being clocked driving his 2006 Mercedes Benz at 111 mph. BY DAVID J. NEAL dneal@herald.com Questions about unrelated Williamses -- one arrested and accused of traveling too fast, one well-traveled -- took up a chunk of a media roundtable session with Dolphins coach Nick Saban. Around 4 a.m. Thursday, safety Quintin Williams, a rookie free agent last season who went from practice squad to game roster, was clocked at driving 111 mph and had a blood-alcohol reading of .087, above Florida's legal limit of .08. Williams and his passenger, free agent safety Travares Tillman, participated in a charity pool tournament at Hollywood's Seminole Hard Rock Casino on Wednesday. According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Bill Ferrell, troopers caught Williams driving his 2006 Mercedes and Brandy Lynn Richards driving her 2005 Nissan Maxima west on Interstate 595 at 111 and 109 mph, respectively. After sobriety tests, Williams was arrested for driving under the influence. Richards told troopers she was a Dolphins cheerleader, a claim refuted Thursday by a Dolphins spokesman. Williams and Richards were charged with unlawful speeding and racing on the highway. Tillman was allowed to leave with Richards, who has been cited twice before for not only speeding, but not wearing a seat belt. She drove. ''These are not the kinds of choices and decisions that we would like to see players make relative to respect for the law, safety of others and how it reflects on the rest of the guys on the team,'' Saban said. Williams' charges can bring up to $1,000 in fines and six months in jail. He was released Thursday after posting $500 bond. He might face discipline from the NFL, also, under the personal conduct policy. ''I will address this situation at some point in time with these players when I get a little bit more information about it and make a determination what we could do about it,'' Saban said. The other Williams was, of course, nomadic running back Ricky Williams. Saban said he wasn't bothered by various reports on Williams' trek to South Florida -- he's driving, he's in Boston, etc. -- because ``I knew exactly what he was doing and he did exactly what he said he was going to do.'' He wouldn't, however, confirm he spoke with Williams. Saban said the last time he answered that question, he spent several hours of a family vacation to his Georgia cottage on the phone ``putting fires out about saying whether or not I talked to Ricky Williams. ``So, you think I'm going to tell you now? Because I'm going to Georgia again [tonight].'' http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sport...ns/11972113.htm
June 24, 200521 yr I saw it on the news and he was asked if he was apart of it and he was like "No. I was home..." and then he was asked so you weren't drag racing? and he was like "No man, I was going home." Such a bad liar.
