Posted June 27, 200519 yr two weekends ago I saw the Black Crowes in concert. I made the trek from Mississippi to Birmingham, AL. The North Mississippi Allstars opened (they are a blues-rock band), followed by Gov't Mule (another blues/Southern rock band), and then the Black Crowes. It's the best concert I've ever seen. Chris Robinson is one helluva entertainer. If you haven't listened to the Black Crowes before you should. If you haven't heard of them or don't think you know any of their stuff, you probably have and just didn't realize it. The song that plays on those ESPN commercials for that Poker fiction series (I forget what it's called, but it's by the makers of Rounders) is "Remedy" by Black Crowes. They also play "Hard To Handle" (originally by Otis Redding), "Twice As Hard", and "She Talks To Angels". You've probably heard more than one of these songs. Anyway, I was hoping for some reaction.
June 27, 200519 yr I'm a fan of the Black Crowes (though I didn't like their last album, Lions). Chris Robinson is something of an acquired taste, but yes, very entertaining as a performer.
June 27, 200519 yr Beetle, I must say that it is very pimp how you bold and italicize album titles. Big ups. Now back to your regularly scheduled Media thread
June 27, 200519 yr Author I feel like Juanky may enjoy the Black Crowes. That's a Pink Floyd avatar, so....
June 27, 200519 yr Beetle, I must say that it is very pimp how you bold and italicize album titles. Big ups. ... I've adopted the editorial style of one of my favorite publications on the subject, Billboard's Rock Movers & Shakers. In it, album titles are shown in Bold Italics, singles/album cuts in Italics, movie titles in "Quotation Marks", and so forth.
June 27, 200519 yr Author That's a Pink Floyd avatar, avatar quote, and signature. 828163[/snapback] yes, I know. The point I'm making is that Pink Floyd has influenced the Black Crowes (especially in their jams) a good bit, and I was wondering if you too were into the Black Crowes.
