July 24, 200520 yr Hopefully this means Vargas will get the start on Tuesday and Ish stays in the pen. Don't want to Vargas by putting him in the pen, though I probably would have preferred to keep Olsen up if we were going to go this route.
July 24, 200520 yr The simple fact that Jack said we sent Olsen down because Valdez could go to the pen and Olsen couldn't leads me to believe Vargas will be starting.

July 24, 200520 yr Olsen shouldnt really be making demands... 872483[/snapback] Why shouldn't Olsen say he won't pitch out of the bullpen? He's a trained starter! You guys kill me. There is a huge difference between starting and pitching out of the bp. By the way...look what pitching out of the bullpen has done to Bump. I'm sure he didn't mind pitching out of the BP. At least he was in the big leagues and since he's not a "name", he knew when he was traded to the Marlins that there were a lot of starting pitchers ahead of him. This season he's been constantly warmed up and then not used. Where is he? He's been turned into a one inning pitcher and now he's hurt. Does anyone know exactly what's wrong with him? The team hasn't said anything since he was put on the DL. This, as far as I'm concerned was caused by Jack. He has NO clue how to use the bullpen. He also has a reputation of ruining pitchers. Let's just hope he hasn't ruined Dontrelle. Olsen has a bright future ahead of him and he shouldn't settle for pitching out of the bullpen since he's only 21. He has plenty of time.
