A couple of thoughts on a slow day

Featured Replies

First nothing I'm about to post is being discussed anywhere but the water cooler chatter.

First someone the another day brought up an idea for the Marlins lack of left-handed power. How would this sound Juan Encarnacion and a top prospect( Jason Stokes or a pitcher) for Carlos Beltran?

Also someone e-mail the other day about Vlad Guerrero become a Marlin in the offseason? What % do you give it? Well the facts are Vlad DOES NOT want to go to a big market like NY or LA. Baltimore is the strongest player for this guy next year BUT here's my ? whould you prefer Lowell or Vlad if ownership pays for a franchise player.

Your thoughts???

Beltran = no thanks..... until he drops Boras atleast

Vlad or Lowell?.... gotta say Vlad.... sorry, but i hope it doesnt come to that

it is kinda a slow day huh...........beltran is a definite upgrade over enc, but i dont think beltran is worth the money he comands, i just dont see beltran as a cornerstone player, ya know?........lowell or vlad?? well, vlad has done it year after year, we dont know if lowell will continue this power surge throughout the rest of his career or if he will go back to being a 25 hr 100 rbi guy.........so, for the money, gotta go with vlad

I like Beltran, but i wouldnt want him unless he drops Boras

I think i was the one who Emailed/PMed you about Vlad joining in the offseason?

I would love to see Vlady in a Marlins uniform, but short of that I wouldn't mind seeing him in Baltimore, out of the National League.

Also, since the Orioles are already loaded to the gills with MLB caliber outfielders, and Jeff Conine becomes a 10/5 player at the end of the season (thus untradeable without his consent), I would still love to pick up Jay Gibbons (1B-RF, Bats Left) to play right next year.

Jay Gibbons is arguably a franchise player..... why would they deal him?

Because my dear Ramp, if you look at who they have signed for 2004 in the outfield and you factor in Vlady, Gibbons is the odd man out. Why Gibbons? One big reason - he can bring you alot in a trade. The orioles have a ton of cash to spend next year and they can afford (talent-wise) to shop Gibbons for pitching and/or prospects.

Besides, I'm just speculating in response to Edcanes post :D :w00t :D
