July 30, 200521 yr I have a piece of miguel Cabreras bat from the Pittsburgh series that shattered into pieces after a hard line drive to left field and my piece is full of some sticky stuff which I believe it to be pine tar, is it legal now? And if it isn't the game must be aware of this, cause the pittsburgh pirates bullpen handed out the broken bat to the crowd in pieces.

July 30, 200521 yr It's illegal for pitchers to use it on balls, or have it on them when they're throwing.
