Killer7

I just got this game yesterday and I really didn't know how much I'd play it or if I would even like it but the game is so beautiful. The story is simple, the only people that can stop the terrorists are a group of assassins called "Killer7." The game is basically a rail shooter (Think "House Of The Dead") but mixed with adventure. There's puzzles, backtracking, and it isn't just a straight forward game. Though it's pretty linear, it's a game you don't mind being linear. You go back and forth with one button and enter a shooting mode with another. The game overall has a very scary look to it and is pretty disturbing sometimes. Not really disturbing scenes, but the whole horror thing is pretty constant in this game. A lot of the puzzles are easy from what I've played so far and they give you hints (Harder difficulties don't give hints) and clues. Anyway, you play as 8 characters (7 at any point of the game, 1 only be used when the game let's you) who are all very unique in their own way. Special abilities are also a huge part in this game. Each character has their own. I don't wanna give too much away, but this game is well worth the $50 I payed for it. And I NEVER pay $50 bucks for a game. If anyone cares about length, I heard it's anywhere from 15-20 hours long.

Go get it.

I've been intrigued about this game for ahilw now. Then I saw it had bad reviews and it was a bad time for it to come out for my buying purposes (midway through the football and wrestling video game season, also Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks comes out in a month and a half).

I'll check it out when it hits the bargain bins or drops to 30 buckaroos in 7 months or so.

I'm not sure I like the fact that it's a rail shooter, though... Do you think the gun controller is necessary for this type of game?

No, the gun is not needed for this game. Especially because it's not just shooting like House Of The Dead. It's a "rail" shooter only because your character can move forward and back but it's much more than just shooting. Like I said, there's a bunch of puzzles, and there are people to talk to. Weird people, but they're still there.
