September 19, 200521 yr Can someone who watched it firsthand give a bit of a recap of some sort? Thanks.
September 19, 200521 yr Flair beat Carlito for the Intercontinental Title in a fun little match. Carlito went to spit apple on Flair and got punched, then put in the Figure Four and tapped. He was "choking" on the apple. Trish and Ashley beat Victoria and Torrie. It was what you would expect. Trish looked really good though, she's added some more stuff to her repetoire, lots of huracanranas and such now. She pinned Victoria (I think) with the chick kick. Ashley didn't look good, but you can tell she could be if she puts her mind to it. Show beat Snitsky, didn't watch most of this match, as Snitsky is useless. Shelton beat Kerwin White clean with the T-bone suplex. Good match, nothing special of course. Matt Hardy beat Edge in a match of the year type outing. Just a great cage match, maybe my favorite cage match ever. He pinned Edge after a leg drop from the top of the cage. Edge bled a lot, Matt hit Lita with the Twist of Fate. He also kicked out of the spear, they made him look quite strong. Crowd was into him big time, especially by the end. Best match of the night, by far. I don't like the way they handled Matt since he came back, but it really did make this win seem bigger. Feud's not over, of course. Murdoch & Cade won the Tag Titles from Rosey and Hurricane. I fell asleep during this. Michaels beat Masters with Sweet Chin Music. I slept through this one too. Cena-Angle was a good match and the ending is a controversy. I'll just go to Meltzer for the recap: After a ref bump, Angle did a low blow, punch using the gold medal and ankle lock. Eric Bischoff ran in to taunt Cena. After about a month in the ankle lock, Cena escaped, sending Angle into Bischoff. Cena got the belt and hit Angle, but the ref saw it for the DQ. Bischoff told the ref that screw the rules, Cena doesn't get the belt back. Cena gave Bischoff an FU in the ring. Angle jumped Cena, but Cena came back with an FU through the Spanish table. JR called that Cena was the winner and still champion, but had to correct himself. They may wind up with the title announced as held up tomorrow for a rematch at Taboo Tuesday. I had low expecations for the show, so the sheer awesomeness of the Matt-Edge match made the pay-per-view worthwile. Trish is also one of my favorites, so seeing her back in the ring and looking very good in that was also a plus. That cage match is really something those who didn't order this need to find a way to see at some point. Oh and they did some awful backstage skits with Flair and some women that I refuse to recap because I respect him too much.
