February 22, 200620 yr nobody cares enough to come see him in play anyway, negating his draw at the gates. I disagree there.... as he got within 6 or 7 of 600, people would start showing up Yeah, but by that time the Marlins will be in celebrating their second straight championship. I wouldnt mind giving him that shot... obviously Im in the minority though I'd give him a shot, but only if Willingham had the catcher's position all wrapped up. No need to let Sosa take away Willy's AB's. Not going to happen either way though, so this probably is a moot point.
February 22, 200620 yr Aguilia will have a better season than Sosa. True, very true. We have no need for Sosa on this team. It'd be like oil and water.
February 22, 200620 yr Imagine this. 1. CF 2. RF Hermidia 3. 1st Jacobs 4. 3rd Cabrera 5. LF Sosa 6. C Olivio / Willingham 7. 2nd uggla/ Reese 8. SS Hanley Ramirez 9. Pitcher I think they can make the playoffs with this line up.. BRING ON SAMMY!!!! at least people will go to the games for sosa :mischief2 I was wiping my ass earlier tonight and got to pondering D Canefan's post. I started to chuckle when I pictured Sammy hauling ass out to right field like the old days in Chicago. Except it was a Sunday afternoon game, the Fish were 20 games under .500, and the right field seats were empty. This may be retorical, but do you think he'd still do his patented sprint-to-right thing??? Sorry to break the news, but the bullpen will keep the Fightin' Girardi's out of any playoff dreams.
February 22, 200620 yr Sammy sosa HAY days were in the mid and late 1990s, if I can remember right. He's done, just like the pizza man, mike piazza, you can only be good for so long. I remember watching baseball where mike piazza and samy sosa were feared by pitchers, Not any more. Your thinking about the past, and I do too, but time seems to have gone to fast for baseball. baseball is not like what it used to be, the feeling has changed over the years. The cork in the bat, and the strange injury sammy sosa had will finish him off. he will not be coming to the marlins, and even if he did, the marlins are still a weak team this april. :confused
