They always do stuff after the televised main events now. It's a common practice.

 

Usually it allows to get wrestlers who are fueding valuable ring-time in front of a crowd and to work a match on a lesser scale similar to their ppv match.

so then the four way will not be seen on Smackdown then.....It was Angle, Taker, Mark Henry and Orton (making his 3rd appearance in the night)

 

Taker tombstoned Henry who then got drop kicked by Angle and Angle won.

Yeah...plus, it gives the crowd a big match to go out on with the big stars, ones that they wouldn't give away on TV.

Bah you, I was in the same camp up until the debut of, the single greatest charachter EVAR, the Boogeyman

Other than that, MNM, and Kurt Angle, Smackdown pretty much still does suck but it's gotten watchable.

Boogeyman makes an appearance......and I've become a huge Randy Orton fan especially after the show.
