Girardi on 760 ESPN radio (Palm Beach)

Featured Replies

anyone else hear it? (Probably not, that station probably gets 10 listeners per day)

he was on for a long time, probably 15-20 minutes at 5:10ish

he is going to be doing a show with them every Tuesday during the season

-- he really impresses me, he got ME excited, I felt like running through a wall for the guy

he really played the roster battles close to the vest -- he didn't want any player to feel like they won a job - IE: Ramirez and Andino are very close in the competition he said -- said there were 9 guys for the 4 starter jobs, thats why Pinto started and Moehler relieved today, so everyone gets a fair shake.

he is very excited about the young arms

even with all of his playing everything close to the vest, he basically said Uggla will be the starting 2B. They were counting on Pokey being the utility guy, who could play 2b or SS.

he said they would not be trading their young pitching for an OFer, even though they are thin at OF.

he said Willingham has come a long way behind the plate under Tuck's tutelage - he doesn't know where Willingham will end up playing. Praised Olivo, too.

Thanks for the headsup. I just can't get 760 at all. I went to their website but I get the impression they don't do internet. Too bad.

I listen to 760 on occasion. They have a pretty good morning show...certainly better than listening to Hank.
