Dolphins To Open Season At Steelers In Prime-Time; Miami Also Plays At Lions On Thanksgiving Day

March 27, 2006

The NFL today announced its 2006 Kickoff Weekend nationally televised schedule ? including a Monday night doubleheader -- and its Thanksgiving Day national TV tripleheader. The Dolphins play a prominent role in those games as the team opens the season at the Super Bowl XL champion Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, September 7 at 8:30 p.m. (ET) in a game broadcast on NBC. Later during the season, Miami will travel to battle the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day (November 23) as the early game that afternoon at 12:30 p.m.(ET) in a contest televised by CBS. The rest of the 2006 regular-season schedule will be finalized and announced in April.
