Mets released outfielder Tike Redman.

Redman probably requested the move after being reassigned to minor league camp. Redman was always miscast as a starter, but there are worse fifth outfielders out there. We wouldn't be surprised to see the Marlins grab him. Mar. 29 - 8:08 pm et

just beat me too it. I also saw that Todd Linden got beat out for bench spot in the Giants OF and may be traded this coming weekend. Don't have time to take an extended look, but they're some options (alternatives) to carrying a 13th pitcher until April 15th.

Beinfest had some interest in Redman in the past so I agree...he could end up a Marlin.

The problem is our 40 man roster is maxed out. Someone would need to be placed on waivers (possibly lost.)
