  5. Call Call him up tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Different shaped heads, Castillo has/had ear rings, Boner has lighter skin.
  7. Why do the Yanks get crap for the bad start of their guys but the Red Sox are fine even though Dice-K has had two pathetic starts? (12.79, 3.000 WHIP?!) BTW Dice-K hit the DL today.
  8. Dr. James Andrews, the leading physician in his field, recently explained in a New York Times article that the extra heat, if it exists at all, comes from the physical therapy and rehab that is done in post-op recovery. ?We don?t want to advertise that we can make you a better pitcher by the Tommy John procedure; that?s misleading,? explains Dr. Andrews. ?The increased velocity isn?t true by any stretch of the imagination. For the ones that do it, the reason is all the hard work, all the throwing exercises and the development from all the exercises they?d probably never done before.?
  9. Velocity isn't really gained because of the TJ surgery. The velocity increase is because of the improved arm strength and mechanics a pitcher gains while rehabbing after the surgery. Like Rab said, this is a theory, but has zero fact behind it. I don't ever remember J.J. ever throwing as hard as he is right now, at any point in time in this organization. Yes, he gained velocity but it has more to do with him working his ass of during the rehab than it does because of the surgery.
  10. More injury woes for the Marlins Minor Leaguers. Hard-throwing right-hander Ryan Tucker was placed on the seven-day disabled list on Wednesday, after he gave up seven earned runs in 1 2/3 innings on Tuesday night for Triple-A New Orleans. The extent of the injury has not yet been announced. Tucker, a first-round pick in 2005, made his big league debut last year. The organization envisions him as a starter, but he also could be a relief candidate. Tucker's injury follows news that Taylor Tankersley, also in New Orleans, has a stress fracture in his left elbow. He will have surgery on Friday. Linky
  11. Yes, the stuck up one is me, not the guy who posted a thread saying "THIS IS WHAT I THINK! EVERYONE READ! NO NEGATIVE OPINIONS ALLOWED!". And no, I don't hide behind a screen name. I'm a real person. Good, I was starting to think you were just a figment of my imagination.
