Marlins minor league trade

Featured Replies

not sure if this has been mentioned....

"The Rangers pulled off a minor league deal with the Marlins over the weekend, sending righthander Marc LaMacchia to Florida for shortstop Juan Gonzalez, a 24-year-old from Venezuela who was hitting .254/.333/.310 for high Class A Jupiter. LaMacchia went 1-3, 6.32 in 31 innings for high Class A Bakersfield."

LaMacchia went to FSU and pitched for Italy in the WBC.... also had Tommy John surgery at the end of his FSU career

great..why would we need another pitcher?

Anyway...Juan hasn't been that good for a 24 year old and doesn't look like he'll make it to the show.

Edgar Gonzalez has been better.

In 2005, Marc posted good numbers....

(4-2) 3.73 ERA

(62.2 IP, 48 H, 26 BB, 53 K) 4 saves.....

Marc is 6'1, 190 and 24 years old. At FSU, Marc had Tommy John surgery but was 11-2 with a 3.38 ERA as a sophomore.

Here's a weblink that shows Marc as one of FSUs best pitchers....if you look at the players in that College World Series, then you will see a LOT of talent and MLB players. Looks like a decent trade.... http://www.ncaasports.com/story/arc_story/29027

Here's the potential this guy has....
