October 7, 200322 yr This guy still cant just give praise to our team without being somewhat negative. Why does he always try to be cute? His writing is boring and always sounds the same - like a fat man at an all-you-can-eat buffet reaching around you to get another helping of bacon. I mean, what is with this: The Cubs have two young vapor-throwers. The Marlins have Mark Redman. Did he forget about Beckett, Penny, and even Willis (lucky Burnett is out too)? Here is the rest of his article: Le Retard Oh, you may like how he ends the article. But we knew this all along about him - what a jack@$$...he must of been one of those guys who got picked last all the time.
October 7, 200322 yr I F&%$#'ing hate Le Batard. He uses the term "we" as if he's really been a part of this Marlins season. Or even given a care about them until September. "A group of Florida nobodies." Nobodies? No one's heard of Pudge Rodriguez? Mike Lowell? Dontrelle Willis? Jeff Conine? And don't give me all the karma crap. He can talk about everything that's nice about the Cubs & their ballpark & history. I don't understand why it's a knock on the Marlins that their franchise hasn't been around for long. The Cubs haven't won in nearly a century. That's not much to hang your hat on. This isn't Yankee karma we're talking about, it's Buffalo Bills karma. It's Boston Red Sox karma. He tries to make up for it all with this: "I will be accepting, at a news conference today, a big trophy for leading the league in wrong. Crow will be served." Problem is, it doesn't bother me that these guys didn't pick the Marlins to win. What bothers me is that they beat the team down until people are not only mad at the previous ownership, they're convinced they shouldn't ever go back because "what if the same thing happens again?" Radio hosts ask "does anybody even care about the Marlins?" Writers joke about the team. The response I always get is "well it's not our job to get people to support the Marlins!" Fair enough, but then is it your job to do the opposite? If I didn't know any better I'd think most of them relish in the fact that the team got such low attendance.
October 7, 200322 yr Ugh... and he acted all passionate about the Marlins on SportsCenter last night. Ugh... :banghead
October 7, 200322 yr Agreed, I am a Cubs fan and this is favorably for the Cubs, but he annoys me. I like the comment how you have to face wood and Prior in the cold? Um ya Prior the 2nd game, Wood will pitch in south Florida and Game 7 if it goes that far.
October 7, 200322 yr Ugh... and he acted all passionate about the Marlins on SportsCenter last night. Ugh... :banghead oh my, you shouldn't have told me that. If I would have been watching ESPN when he did that, I'd have taken a sledge hammer to my television. now I'm going to have to send threatening letters to him. did they happen to remind him he called the addition of Pudge Rodriguez "breast implants on a corpse? hmm? i'm guessing not..." die Dan diiiieeeeeee!
October 7, 200322 yr Author I agree. I have been bombarding that bastard with emails calling him out - I would like to think that is why he finally admitted to his original position in this last 'article'. But yeah, breasts on a corpse - that was not only bad taste, but disgusting and without relevance. He should be run out of town - but he smears his fesces all over the place and it is hard to know where he is exactly. After all, how do you seperate crap from the piece of crap itself.
October 7, 200322 yr i read the article earlier today. he mentions how no one outside of florida is rooting for the marlins. even though the fact that no one really likes us is part of our own appeal, i say we tell him about our white sox fans. how they are going to wrigley, buying our gear, and rooting for us to beat the cubs. anyone agree with me?
