November 16, 200619 yr What would be his trade value in the majors right now? He is getting up there in age and just resigned a long term contract. But the price on that contract is not too bad overall. Plus he brings in huge money from japanese interests. I was debating this with a friend over what he would be worth in a trade if the yankees did move him to an NL or an AL team.
November 16, 200619 yr Getting up there in age? The guy is 32! Ichiro is older than Matsui... He's a .300 hitter, 100+ RBI, 25-30 HR guy with excellent plate discipline and a plus arm in the OF. He's easily worth a $10 million per year multiyear deal.
November 16, 200619 yr Author that was my own stance and I said he could pull in a top flight starter if they package him with a solid prospect. He said no way he could have value close to that.
