Ray Durham to remain with Giants

Featured Replies

According to Rotoworld, Ray Durham will be a Giant for at least one more year. I'm a bit indifferent about this. He had a great year this past season. If he can duplicate that, this was a great move. But if he starts having the same leg injuries and missing games here and there, not such a great move. I was kinda looking forward to seeing Kevin Frandsen get a shot, but it looks like they weren't gonna let that happen anyways. From what I can see, it was either gonna be Mark Loretta or Ray Durham. Between the two, I'm glad they stayed with Ray Durham.

Looks like the Giants infield may be Feliz, Vizquel, Durham, and Aurilia. I don't want Feliz back. Put Aurilia at 3rd and get another first baseman....

According to the San Jose Mercury News, free agent Ray Durham will remain with the Giants.

Durham thought he'd get a nice two-year deal elsewhere, but it didn't look like it was going to materialize with teams like the Padres, Blue Jays and Cardinals all seeking cheaper solutions at second base. The Giants are probably out of the mix for Mark Loretta now, something that will cause the Red Sox pause as they decide whether to offer him arbitration. Kevin Frandsen will probably have to be content with a utility role initially.

Looks like he got 2 years... That's a bit risky. But again, if he can duplicate what he did last season, I'm very happy about this.

Ray Durham will get a two-year deal worth $14 million-$15 million to remain with the Giants.

There didn't seem to be anyone else interested in going two years with him, so Durham did pretty well here.

Damn - I just read the Giants are bringing Pedro Feliz back for one year. I really did not want to see him back....
