Posted January 9, 200718 yr http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/16412063.htm The Dolphins are on a short list of teams that could host an international regular-season game next year in either Germany or Britain. Six teams are in the running for the ''home'' game. Seattle, San Francisco, Buffalo, Kansas City and New Orleans are the others. The Dolphins are a natural fit to host a game abroad. The franchise has told the NFL it would like to do so, NFL commissioner Roger Godell said during a visit during the season, and Miami has a reputation as an international city. Last October, league owners approved a plan to play annual games in Europe, Canada and Mexico. The league emphasized it would choose the competitors as part of the scheduling process, not by a team decision. The first regular-season game outside the United States was played in Mexico City in 2005 between the Cardinals and 49ers, drawing a crowd of 103,467 -- the largest for a regular-season game in NFL history. The site of next season's game is expected to be announced Jan. 16.
January 9, 200718 yr I hope we don't get picked...call me selfish, but I want to be going to 8 real games next year, not 7.
January 9, 200718 yr according to ESPN we are the front-runner because we have a large international fan base in europe.
January 9, 200718 yr Honestly, just get it over with while we stink. I'd rather this not happen at all, but that's already been decided, so just do it now, instead of later when we will once again be the rulers of the NFL world.
January 9, 200718 yr Author I wonder who they would play. I guess there is also a chance that the dolphins are the "away" team.
