Love this time of the year - making my first spring training game of the season tommorrow - going to the very underated maryvale park to watch the giants & brewers - the brewers fans are great, bob uecker in the box and sausage races - taking my grandmother and wife so I sprung for teh good seats (all $19 worth)

 

as the spring progresses I'll settle into the $6 lawn seats behind the outfield

 

i think I could be addicted

I'm going to my first ST game tomorrow too.....mets vs. orioles

going next monday to braves vs. cardinals!!!

I'm going on Monday, Marlins vs Orioles.

would love to see the marlins - but such is life

 

got there just in time for the opening - 3 rows behind the brewers dugout - was kind of cold if the wind kicked up or the sun wasn't on, but still a nice 70 degree day

 

both pitchers started off rough and the final of 12-8 reflects the kind of day it was

 

a lot of the brewers were signing as they were leavin the game- ben sheets blew off a bunch of kids though who were being pretty respectful (not even bothering him as he took a moment with a kid who I assume is family about 10 feet from where people wait for signatures)

 

sausage races were fun and the ballpark fare is always great - had a polish & a brat along with the stadium sauce - complete milwaukee style

 

my wife got upset with me when I referred to the guy in front of me as a scumbag - there was a high pop up coming right at me - the row in front of me is pretty much empty and I have 4 kids with gloves to my left - ball hits off their gloves, goes off the seat directly in front of me and lands at my feet - the kids are diving for the ball so I figure instead of picking it up and choosing one to give it to, i'll let them work it out - they knock it back into the row ahead of me and some guy who had to be around 30 snags it off the ground like it's some great accomplishment

 

all in all a great day at the park - unfortunately I have two of my remaining weekends in march completely booked - surprise stadium is having a bring your dog to the park day, so I may have to grab my pup and head up for that - there are also a couple 7 starts I may need to check out

 

but all in all it's just fun having that good of access to the game, spending time with family and enjoying the true baseball crowd that these things tend to draw
