July 29, 200719 yr i hadn't seen this mentioned and i've been in awe for about a month and a half now, so i posted it: former miami hurricane and current brewer ryan braun is tearing up the national league. and that's an understatement. he got a late start but his numbers don't show it (except that he is yet to qualify, but he will before season's end). braun is on pace to lead rookies by wide margins in home runs and rbi (currently 1st in both) and has the highest batting average, on base %, and slugging % of any rookie. he became a definite lock to win the ROY when his only near competition, astro hunter pence, injured his wrist sliding into 2nd base sunday at pittsburgh and will be out 4-6 weeks. chris young has been strong lately but will fall way short of what braun is doing. July 29, 200719 yr Author guess i f**ked that one up, sorry, i'll leave that mess there in case anyone knows how to fix it
July 29, 200719 yr Pence will be in the discussion no matter what, but it will probably be neck and neck between him and Braun. IMO.
July 29, 200719 yr man, why do i think the AL ROY award was already engraved for Dice-K when Guthrie deserves it more right now
July 29, 200719 yr man, why do i think the AL ROY award was already engraved for Dice-K when Guthrie deserves it more right now Just like it was engraved for Matsui. What a retarded post.
July 29, 200719 yr well, if its true, it wasn't so retarded. and pence is out 4-6 weeks. There are ~58 games left in the season or around 12 starts left for a starter. A ton can happen either way to not start saying stuff like, 'the AL ROY was already engraved for Dice-K'. Dice-K has been damn good this season, I don't know why anyone needs to bring up things like what PA said out of nowhere. It's again, retarded.

July 29, 200719 yr I wouldn't argue that Guthrie has been better than Dice-K at this point either. (Hell, I was the one who made a thread about how good Guthrie has been a couple weeks ago.) I would argue which has been more valuable to their team though, but that doesn't matter in ROY voting. Oh yeah, Hideki Okajima and his 518 ERA+ need to be in this discussion big time.
