Petite vs. Redman

Featured Replies

I like this matchup. Petite will give us some fits if he brings his A game. Righties hit .254 against him (regular season), lefties .321. Hmm...Pierre, Castillo...could get ugly too. Walked 50, Kd 180. Great pick off move. Going to be interesting, but it depends on how well Pierre and Castillo do.

As for Redman, lefty flyball pitcher faces predominantly lefty hitting lineup with short RF porch. Hmm...could get ugly for us too. Redman is going to rely on changing speeds, his changeup is key to create the effect that he has a live fastball. He will need an umpire with a good-sized strike zone. Not like the ump tonight. Lefties are hitting .200 against him (regular season) in 140ABs. We know that Redman has great control. Going to be interesting.

Seems like a microcosm of the series. The cadillac vs the ford. I wouldn't think Las Vegas is picking Redman. But the Marlins sure have had some fun games against lefties this season. And they're on a roll.

Pettite hasn't gone on 3 days rest in almost 3 years and the last time he did, he allowed 7 runs in 4 innings of work. Plus the Marlins have the best record in baseball against left handed pitchers.

So hopefully all of that will work in the Marlins favor!
