December 7, 200718 yr I consider myself pretty cultured when it comes to watching a different variety of films. I just don't get Wes Anderson films. I want to like them, but I just can't. I don't know what's keeping me from liking them either. Perhaps it's the ultra controlled environment in all his films. There's just something that keeps me detached from every one of them. I'll give him one thing, I know when I'm watching a Wes Anderson film. I can't say that for the majority of directors of today. I'd like to know what fans of his work find so appealing about his films.
December 10, 200718 yr Rushmore and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou are two of the funniest movies ever to me. Nearly every line in both of those films can be absolutely hysterical.
December 11, 200718 yr Royal Tenenbaums and really not much else. I can watch Rushmore and The Life Acquatic, but that's it. Gene Hackman is pure friggin gold as Royal Tenenbaum, such a sleazbag.
