Umm.. yeah, my XBox 360 got the red ring, does that mean it's dead or is it something that can be fixed?

Is it all red or are there only 3 red lights and 1 green light?

Same exact thing happened to me.

 

All you have to do is call up Xbox, they'll give you an automated message, and eventually it will say something to the extent of "If you are calling because your xbox has 3 red rings around the power button, press 3"

 

Then they'll give you a couple tips on how to fix it and it will ask if it helped, and you simply say "NO". Then they'll get you on the phone with a representative and he'll ask for your name, adress, etc and he'll give you this special number that you need to write down. In a few days, you will have an empty box shipped to you. You put your xbox in the box along with a piece of paper with that number the people at xbox gave you, and send it to them.

 

Then they'll receive your old xbox, and send you back a new one, fixed.

 

 

edit: Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, it's entirely FREE. You don't need the warranty
