February 7, 200818 yr Yankees agreed to terms with second baseman Robinson Cano on a four-year, $30 million contract. Announcing a deal that was agreed to almost two weeks ago. Cano will get $3 million this season, $6 million in 2009, $9 million in 2010 and $10 million in 2011. There's a $14 million option for 2012 with a $2 million buyout and a $15 million option for 2013 with the same buyout. Because the second buyout wouldn't go into effect unless the initial option is exercised, Cano is guaranteed only $30 million. If the options are exercised, he'll make $57 million over six years. --- RotoWorld.com
February 7, 200818 yr I'm glad the Yankees signed him long term - he has a few holes (patience at the plate and his defense is questionable at times), but there is no doubting his talent. :thumbup
February 8, 200818 yr seems like everyone is getting locked up, teams are hanging on to their talent. Good for Cano, he's on his way to becoming a franchise player that will probably be in pinstripes for a long time.
