Im going up to NY in a month and am gonna attend a Mets game (vs. Nationals) and a Yankee game (vs. Mets) on back to back days at Shea and Yankee Stadium respectively. I was wondering if any of you guys can help me out with picking out good seats for both games. At Shea, im looking into anything Field level, probably Outer Field Box along the 1st base line, and for the Yankee game, I think the only seats left that dont cost a ridiculous fortune are bleachers (NO!!) and Upper Tier (is it too high?), hopefully behind home plate.

Please help a brotha out, I would really appreciate it.

Shea is a dump and has been since it opened in the 1960's so I would not even bother with that one. Wait for the new Citifield next year if you want to see the Mutts play at home. Yankee Stadium has excellent sitelines regardless of the area of the stadium, so it really is a matter of how much you want to spend. Personally, I would take the bleachers over the upper deck. This is the last year of a storied tradition, and Yankee Stadium Bleachers are a big part of it. In fact, it is onlt the last five years or so that they can be purchased in advanced. The bleachers were always a first come first serve walk up deal on gameday.

From what Ive been reading, you dont wanna sit in the bleachers. Rough crowds. Plus, isnt it a tad bit too far from the action on the field. Thanks for your help though.

The bleachers can be a blast. Just don't wear a hat with the letter B on it, and the crowd will be fine :p

having gone there for 20 yrs or so, the only places to avoid IMO are the bleachers (unless u bring binoculars), and the upper deck in LF (too damn far)...otherwise anywhere in the infield, even upper deck is fine, altho if u sit in the middle or under the middle deck u won't see the flight of fly balls.....

in short, anywhere but the bleachers, upper deck LF, and MAYBE the middle deck....
