July 10, 200817 yr Considering he's struggles at ALB this year, it's unlikely he'll be up. He also isn't on the 40 man roster. Unless all of Anibal, JJ, and Volstad struggle, and then Tucker and Hendrickson struggle replacing them, it's very unlikely he'll be up anytime this year. And considering that you'd then be banking on 5 guys putting up 6+ ERAs, I think it's safe to say he'll be staying in the minors. It's unfortunate because he doesn't really seem to have a spot on the team, and based off his season, he could be a big buy-low candidate for teams, much like Petit was last year (although I think Gaby will be better than Petit).

We shouldn't be putting our promising pitchers in that graveyard. We only HAD to put gaby and, to a lesser extent, De La Cruz there b/c we have so many good, young pitchers that they take up all the spots in carolina. As soon as a spot cleared up in Carolina it made sense to put Gaby there so we don't shatter his confidence by making him pitch in a league where pitchers go to die.
